Court Accomplishments
  • Froze Taxes for Senior Citizens
  • Expanding more than 100 major thoroughfares throughout Collin County
  • Began six-lane expansion of SH 121
  • Began the construction of overpasses on SH 121
  • Worked with cities, schools and nonprofits to create more than $20 million in parks programs
  • Assisted in establishing a new electronic voting system
  • Worked to add more than 600 jail beds and assisted in the establishment of 6 additional courts
  • Aggressive oiling and ashpalting program on county roads
  • Providing drop off sites for rural residents to bring debris
  • No tax rate increase in 8 years
  • Collin County Completed Bond Projects
Goals
  • Fund SH 121 main lanes
  • Extend the Dallas North Tollway to the Grayson County Line
  • Widen US 380 through Farmersville to the Hunt County Line
  • Extend DART rail into northern Collin County
  • Create recycling program for rural residents
  • Maintain stable tax rate
  • Working with TXDOT on a 121/75 interchange
  • Consolidate Public Works facilities in the unincorporated area
  • Continued partnerships with cities for both road expansion and park preservation
  • Partner with TXDOT on the reconstruction of FM 545
  • Increase funding for volunteer fire departments
  • Widen US 75 through McKinney to the Grayson County Line

Community Involvement

Joe and his wife, Shelley, have lived in Collin County since 1987. Shelley is a reading recovery teacher at Curtsinger Elementary in Frisco. Joe and Shelley have two children, Treyson (26) and Arielle (14). Treyson is a graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas, and Arielle attends Wester Middle School in Frisco.
