Offices Closed for Thanksgiving Holiday: All county offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23, and Friday, Nov. 24, for the holiday. This includes parks offices, public works, courts and all other administrative offices. Offices will re-open Monday, Nov. 27.

Moving Your Business Out of the County

If you move your business out of Collin County, you have two (2) options: (1) you can let the Assumed Name expire, or (2) you can file a Statement of Abandonment for a filing fee of $19.50 for one owner, plus $1 for each additional owner.

Fees:

  • $19.50 to file an Assumed Name Certificate for an unincorporated business; $1.00 extra for each additional owner.
  • $20.50 to file an Assumed Name Certificate for a corporation, unless Registered Agent and the one signing is different. If so, there is an additional $1.00 for each additional owner or registered agent.
  • There is a copy fee of $1.00 per page plus an additional $5.00 for a certified copy.
  • Please refer to the County Clerk's fee schedule for recording fee for documents signed in front of a Notary Public.

Abandonment Fee:

  • $19.50 to file a Statement of Abandonment for an unincorporated business; $1.00 extra for each additional owner.
