WHAT ARE THE FILING FEES?

Please refer to the Civil Court Fee Schedule.

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO FILE AN ANSWER?

Answers must be filed by 10:00 a.m. on the Monday following the expiration of 20 days from the day you were served.

DO YOU HAVE ANY LOCAL RULES?

County Court at Law does not have any specific local rule. We follow the local rules of the District Clerk's Office.

CAN I FILE RECORDS BY FAX?

You can only fax in your filings if you are a fax subscriber.

HOW DO I BECOME A FAX SUBSCRIBER?

Fill out the application and return it with the subscription fee

DO YOU HAVE THE FORMS FOR FILING AN ANSWER?

No, please contact the Law Library.

WHAT ARE THE JURISDICTIONAL LIMITS FOR THE COUNTY COURTS?

$500.00 TOP $100,000.00.

WHO IS THE PLAINTIFF OR DEFENDANT'S ATTORNEY?

Contact the civil clerk to find out the attorney's name, address or phone number.

HOW DO I KNOW IF THE DEFENDANT HAS BEEN SERVED?
HAS THE DEFENDANT FILED AN ANSWER?
HAS THE COURT DATE BEEN SET?
WHICH CONSTABLE HAS THE CITATION TO BE SERVED?
