Campaign Finance reports now online
Elections Department is now posting campaign finance reports for our elected officials.
Campaign finance law,
title 15 of the Election Code, regulates the acceptance of, expenditure of, and reports regarding money in political campaigns by candidates, officeholders, and political committees. Title 15 has nothing to do with ballot access, and a violation of title 15 will not keep a person off the ballot nor will it invalidate an election, according to the
Texas Ethics Commission.
For its launch, filings for 32 officials and political action committees have been posted on the
Campaign Finance Report page, from January 1, 2013, to the latest required filings in July. The reports are sorted by candidate or PAC name.
