Collin
County Day … in Collin County, of course
When the Texas
Legislature is in session, this is the time of year Collin County
leaders from all levels of government and business head down to Austin
to pass on local priorities to state lawmakers. During off-years, however,
county leaders and residents gather for a dialogue between legislators,
residents and the business community to what has been called an economic
summit tailored to this part of North Texas.
Since this is an off-year for the Texas Legislature,
the trend of providing top notch speakers for Collin County continues
on March 25th with economist Stephen
Moore, Senior Economics Writer for The Wall
Street Journal as well as a CNBC
Commentator.
The event, hosted by the Plano
Chamber of Commerce, begins at 11 a.m. at the Collin
County Spring Creek Campus – 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.
The luncheon is at 11:30 a.m., with concurrent breakout sessions as follows:
- 1:15 p.m. – Taxes in Texas or Water Planning
- 2:30 p.m. – Healthcare Issues or Education/Workforce Development
- 3:45 p.m. – The Future of Transportation in Texas
A reception immediately follows the sessions from 5-7
p.m. at Reflections
in Plano.
