Clerks' offices join to help support children's advocates
& domestic violence shelter
(McKINNEY, Texas) - Collin County's District
and County clerks are hosting a
5K Fun Run/Walk benefiting Hope's
Door Domestic Violence Center and the Collin
County Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) on Saturday, May 3, 2008 here
at Towne
Lake Park.
Runners start at 9 a.m. from the West Pavillion; walkers head out 15
minutes later from the same location. The clerks will have snacks and
water available, and the $15 registration fee includes a souvenir T-shirt.
Walkers and runners can download and print out the Registration
Form. For those who would like to help sponsor the event, details
can be found the Sponsorship
Form.
"Hope's Door and the CAC are the kind of causes that we need to
rally around every chance we get," says Kunkle. "They both have
a phenomenal track record of protecting children and battered women in
this community."
This is the second year for the fundraiser. District Clerk Hannah Kunkle
says that, with County Clerk Stacey Kemp joining the effort this year,
the two offices hope to make a big jump in raising money for the two non-profit
organizations.
