Parks and Open Space Grant Opportunities Available in Collin County

Non-profit organizations and municipalities still have time to apply for a share of $2.2 million in Parks & Open Space funds through the Project Funding Assistance Program. As a result of the 2003 Collin County Bond Program, funding is available for projects including -- but not limited to - land acquisition, trail projects and parks and open space improvements.

Collin County officials have already mailed application packets to area communities and previous applicants. The application is available on-line or by contacting the Collin County Special Projects Department, 825 North McDonald Street in McKinney, 972-548-3744 or by email openspace@collincountytexas.gov.

The deadline for submitting applications is Tuesday, July 8. The Parks Foundation Advisory Board will conduct a review process between July and September and funding recommendations will be submitted to the Collin County Commissioners Court in October.
