Groundbreaking for S.H. 121 Frontage Roads this Thursday
Who:
The Texas Department of Transportation and Collin County - along with the cities of Frisco and Plano - will celebrate the groundbreaking of State Highway 121 frontage roads from the Dallas North Tollway to Custer Road, and an interchange at Preston Road/S.H. 289.
Collin County Judge Ron Harris; Joe Jaynes, Collin County Commissioner; Mayor Mike Simpson, Frisco; Councilman Phil Dyer, Plano and Dallas District Engineer Bill Hale, Texas Department of Transportation will be the featured speakers.
What:
The $84.3 million project calls for three frontage roads in each direction (east and west). The road improvement project also involves construction of a three level interchange at Preston.
Where:
North side of S.H. 121, just east of Ohio Road, in Frisco. Look for "the tent". Parking will be available at Stonebriar Chevrolet.
When:
Thursday, October 21 at 11 a.m.
Why:
The S.H. 121 road project is vital to easing traffic congestion and improving mobility in the Collin County region. Construction will start in November. The new, S.H. 121 frontage roads will be open to traffic in November 2007. It's estimated the entire project will be finished in February 2008.
