Collin County lifts second burn ban this year

(McKinney, TX) - As a result of the recent rainfall, Collin County has lifted a burn ban. According to the Keetch-Bryam Drought Index (KBDI), conditions are below the criteria level to issue a burn ban. Additionally, the Texas Forest Service indicates the KBDI level will remain below 500 over the next 14 days. The current KBDI is 455. The burn ban was implemented on October 29th. This was the second burn ban issued for the unincorporated areas of Collin County this year.
