Collin County District Attorney & Collin County Community College students collaborate on new DA website

(McKinney, TX) – The Colllin County DA’s new website, developed and designed by students at Collin County Community College, is now online at www.collincountyda.com.

“My office needed to develop a sophisticated, easy-to-use website, and we needed it right away,” says Collin County DA John Roach, “so I turned to one of the great resources in Collin County, the community college.”

George Jackson, professor of computer information systems and chair of the department of computer systems and applications at the college, brought together a team of five students who chose the DA website development as their semester project. “I am fortunate that the team chose my website as its project,” says Roach. “Not only did my office get a new website, it got a wonderful website – without spending a nickel of county money.”

This real-world project was presented and developed exactly as it would be for any client. The project team quickly organized its objectives and assigned members to achieve them. Caroline Bingenheimer served as project manager, Michelle Simms as project secretary and Esther Liu as client liaison. Janice Yue was assigned as backup client liaison to Ms. Liu, and Cynthia Hare served as the graphics specialist.

“I am as proud of these students and the work they did as Professor Jackson must be,” says Roach.
