Collin County honors local non-profit agencies for their efforts to improve healthcare services within the county

(McKinney, TX) – Collin County Commissioners Court and the Health Care Foundation Advisory Board presented six local non-profit agencies with grant awards, totaling $147,425, for their efforts to improve healthcare services within the county. The organizations honored during tonight’s reception were:

Assistance Center of CC et. al $18,500
Child and Community Health Clinic $25,000
Collin County Adult Clinic $25,000
Collin County Committee on Aging $28,925
Plano Children's Medical Clinic $25,000
Tapestry Health Clinic $25,000

Agencies were evaluated on several criteria, some of which included how they addressed the health and well-being of the citizens, promoted volunteer participation and citizen involvement and targeted at-risk, underserved or vulnerable populations.

The Health Care Foundation Advisory Board reviewed the grant applications. "I'd like to thank members of the advisory board for their hard work in reviewing these grant applications," says Collin County Commissioner Phyllis Cole, “It was not an easy task, but the advisory board’s dedication is greatly appreciated.”

"These funds will not only assist these worthy non-profit organizations, but the funds will also help provide much needed services to residents of Collin County," says Collin County Judge Ron Harris.

"I'm glad we're able to offer this service," says Collin County Commissioner Joe Jaynes. "These groups do great things for the community and these funds will help them in their efforts."

The Health Care Foundation Board of Trustees made $200,000 available for next year’s grant cycle. Applications will be accepted beginning next year.
