Collin County Health Care Services still has children’s flu vaccine available
(McKinney, TX) – Collin County Health Care Services still has several hundred doses of children’s flu vaccine available.
The county received 1,800 doses of infant and children’s influenza vaccine from the Texas Department of State Health Services in October.
This vaccine is specifically earmarked by the state for infants between the ages of six months thru 23 months and for children between the ages of two years thru 18 years with chronic medical conditions.
Flu vaccination clinics are held weekdays at the county health department, 825 N. McDonald Street in McKinney. The clinic hours are from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. daily.
The cost of the vaccine is based on a sliding scale fee, but the amount will not exceed $14 per dose. Cash and checks will be accepted. Medicaid and Chip will also be accepted.
The only flu vaccine currently available through Collin County Health Care Services is earmarked for infants and chronically ill children.
County residents seeking information about vaccination supplies can visit the county website, www.collincountytx.gov. For those who are unable to access the internet, information is available on the health department’s message line at 972-548-5525.
