Collin County to conduct public meeting on the future of the DNT from US 380 North to FM 428
(McKinney, TX) – Collin County leaders and engineers will conduct a briefing for interested parties and land owners along an area north of the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) later this month. Residents along Dallas Parkway from US 380 North to FM 428 are invited to a public meeting at 7:30 p.m. on August 26th at Celina High School, 800 E. Pecan in Celina.
Collin County Judge Ron Harris and County Commissioner Joe Jaynes will provide an overview of county activities. Mayors Corbet Howard of Celina and Charles Niswanger of Prosper will speak. Engineers will review the final alignment and right-of-way requirements on each tract in that area. And, the panel will answer questions from the audience.
In 2003, Collin County’s bond project provided $7 million for alignment determination, preparation of right-of-ways, engineering and construction of the roadway from US 380 to FM 428.
Collin County will only acquire right-of-ways through donations. The county is not purchasing or condemning right-of-ways.
This is a collaborative effort among Collin County, the North Texas Transit Authority, the cities of Prosper and Celina and property owners.
