Collin County introduces first Recycling Program
(McKinney, TX) – Collin County will begin its first recycling program on December 4th. With a grant issued by the North Central Texas Council of Governments through funding from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Collin County will place recycling containers in five locations.
The recycling locations are:
121 Regional Disposal Facility
7934 N. Sate Hwy. 121, Melissa (Open Normal Operational Hours)
Branch VFD
N.W. Corner of F.M. 546 and F.M. 982 (Open 24/7)
City of Nevada
424 F.M. 6 beside City Hall (Open 24/7)
Blue Ridge Service Center
200 E. Heap Street (Open M-F 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.)
Weston Material Storage Area
3821 W. F.M. 455 at F.M. 3356 (Open M-F 7 a.m.- 3 p.m.)
“Recycling promotes a cleaner county by helping keep roads and bridges free of debris because much of the trash along county roads in recyclable material,” says Collin County Commissioner Joe Jaynes.
Acceptable recyclable items include newspapers, magazines, junk mail, paper
bags, glass, office paper, cardboard, soft cover books, catalogs, plastic
bags, aluminum/tin cans and plastic containers.
