Early voting scheduled for the Murphy runoff election
(McKinney, TX) -- Early voting for the June 11, 2005 City of Murphy Runoff Election will begin on May 31, 2005 and will end on June 7, 2005. The polls will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Extended hours will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2005 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Statutory law dictates that all registered voters in Collin County may vote early in person without a designated reason.

Important Note: Eligible City of Murphy registered voters (with an effective date of registration on or before June 11, 2005) may vote at any of the above early voting locations.
The last day to register to vote was May 12, 2005.
Registered voters who are physically disabled, 65 years of age or older, or those voters who will be absent from the county during the entire early voting period and election day, June 11, 2005, are eligible to vote early by mail. To vote early by mail, a voter must send a letter to the Early Voting Clerk, 2010 Redbud Blvd., Ste. 102, McKinney, Texas 75069, requesting a ballot. The letter must include the reason for voting early, the address where the ballot can be mailed and the voters signature.
The deadline to request a mail ballot is June 3, 2005. To be counted, the voted ballot must be received by the Elections Administration Office by 7:00 p.m., June 11, 2005. Late rules apply only to ballots being mailed from outside the country.
