Collin County seeks medical volunteers

(McKinney, TX) – Collin County is seeking volunteer teams of medical professionals to visit area shelters. The 24-hour hotline staffing will end at 5 pm today. Calls to that number will be directed to the Collin County Information hotline, where medical persons can place contact information on the message system. Volunteers will receive a call from a Collin County Health Services employee promptly. In addition to shelters administered by the cities of Wylie and McKinney, Collin County established a shelter at Lake Lavon earlier today. Medical personnel, including physicians, nurses, counselors, psychiatrists, as well as specialized medical professionals are asked to volunteer. Small organized medical strike teams will be created to visit the shelters. Interested persons can call either (972) 548-4555 or (972) 548-4114 to leave contact information.
