Collin County Health Care Services continues offering flu shots to the general public
(McKinney, TX) -- Collin County Health Care Services continues offering flu vaccinations to the general public. Flu vaccinations are given Monday through Friday from 8 am to 11 am and 1 pm to 4 pm. Anyone who wants to reduce their risk of getting the flu can get vaccinated. Doses of FluMist® are also available for healthy persons between the ages of 5 and 49.
According to Collin County Nurse Epidemiologist Janet Glowicz, many people think they have to get the flu vaccine in October or November to be protected. “Flu season usually peaks in February, so there is still plenty of time to ensure that you and your family are protected this year,” says Glowicz.
The health department is located at 825 N. McDonald Street in McKinney. Medicare, Medicaid, and Chip are accepted; otherwise, the cost for the adult vaccination is $20. The cost for the children’s vaccine is based on a sliding scale fee, but the amount will not exceed $14 per dose. Doses of flu mist are available at a reduced cost. Please call (972) 548-5532 for more information. Cash and checks are accepted.
