Collin County celebrates National Public Works Week
(McKinney, TX) – The Collin County Public Works Department will celebrate National Public Works Week, May 15-21, 2005 with an open house scheduled for Friday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The open house will offer residents the opportunity to view exciting exhibits and demonstrations relating to public works activities, and meet their dedicated Public Works professionals. Free food, beverages and music will be offered.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to open our doors to residents of Collin County and show them what we are all about,” says Public Works Director Jon Kleinheksel. “Many people may not be aware of all that we do, so we hope that this open house will give them a greater understanding of the role that Public Works plays in their everyday lives.”
Children are asked to participate in the week’s activities by drawing a picture of their thoughts relating to public works and forward them to Collin County Public Works, 700 A West Wilmeth Road, McKinney, Texas 75069, attention Cheryl Anderson. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place. Pictures must be received no later than Friday, May 13, 2005.
