Collin County emergency management officials assist in the recovery of Anna and Westminster area
(McKinney, TX) – Numerous agencies and community members have assisted in the recovery of the Anna and Westminster area of Collin County following Tuesday’s tornado touchdown. Currently Collin County emergency management officials are concentrating on debris removal and clean up of the affected areas. No new fatalities or injuries have been reported.
The community response has been so overwhelming that no more volunteers are needed at this time. If community members are interested in volunteering during future emergencies or disasters they are encouraged to register with the Collin County Medical Reserve Corps (www.metroplexvolunteers.com), Volunteer McKinney Center (www.volunteermckinney.org), or American Red Cross (www.redcross.org). The American Red Cross will be accepting cash donations at their McKinney Branch location at 1450 Redbud Boulevard from 9 am to 7 pm today.
