Collin County man dies in rural mobile home fire
(McKinney, TX) – One man died during a rural mobile home fire in Collin County overnight. The Princeton Volunteer Fire Department received a call of a structure fire at 11:53 p.m. on Sunday. The fire erupted at 147 CR 492, east of Princeton. The body of 35-year-old Ruben Diosdado was discovered inside the residence after the fire was brought under control at approximately 2 a.m. Thirty-eight-year-old Erica Lopez, along with her one-year-old and 11-year-old daughters, was given emergency aid by ambulance crews. Ms. Lopez suffered numerous lacerations from exiting the residence’s window and required hospitalization. The one-year-old suffered minor burns and smoke inhalation. The 11-year-old was released from a local hospital to relatives.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Princeton VFD received mutual aid from the Farmersville VFD, Branch VFD, Collin County Sheriff’s Office, Collin County Fire Marshal’s Office, Princeton PD, AMR Ambulance and American Red Cross.
