Collin County officials to initiate warrant round-up
(McKinney, TX) – A group of Collin County officials plans to crack down on those who have outstanding warrants next week. Collin County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3-1, Judge Johnny Lewis, Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3-2, Judge John Payton and Constable Bob Bell, Precinct 3, will attempt to clear outstanding traffic and hot check warrants in Plano, Parker, Allen, Murphy, Garland and Rowlett through a warrant round-up scheduled for October 16-20.
The officials say that warrant round-ups are effective at clearing these types of cases by collectively apprehending the offenders. Round-ups are also effective because the process serves as a warning to individuals with outstanding warrants and encourages the offenders to go to court to clear the cases.
Deputies have targeted approximately 300 separate cases they intend to clear either by the defendants appearing in court or by arrest.
