PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Collin County Health Care Services offers the Gardasil HPV Vaccination

(McKinney, TX) – Collin County Health Care Services has received a supply of the Gardasil® Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccine through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program for girls ages 9-19.

The HPV vaccination produced by Gardasil®, aides in the protection of HPV types 16 and 18 which cause 70% of cervical cancer cases and types 6 and 11 which cause 90% of genital wart cases. The vaccine may not fully protect everyone and is not used in people already infected with HPV or pregnant women.

The vaccination is given in 3 doses and is recommended for girls aged 9-26. The Collin County Health Care Services are offering the vaccination for girls ages 9-19 at this time through the VFC program. Vaccines are administered Monday – Friday from 8:00am-11:00 am and 1:00 pm-4:00 pm. The maximum cost is $14 and is based on a sliding scale. The Collin County Health Care Service building is located at 825 N. McDonald Suite 130 in McKinney, Texas.
