Many times, citizens request that the county close a road for
a short time for various activities.
Below is the Road Closure Policy as well as a link to download
the form. Fill out the form and fax it to us a 972-548-3754.
A 72-hour request of road closure must be submitted to Public Works
prior to any partial or entire road closure. Information of road
closure must be submitted on the Road Closure form and
complete information provided must include:
- Date and Time of Notice
- County Road Closed
- Location From / To
- Closed From Date - To Date
- Detour Recommendations
Notification will be given within 24 hours, or one business
day of certainty. The following entities will receive notification.
- County Departments
- Utility Companies
- US Postal Service
- School Districts
- Local Law Enforcement Agencies
- Municipal Law Enforcement Agencies
- Fire Personnel
- EMS Personnel
- Adjacent cities
Public Works will facilitate if assistance is required from or by:
- Road and Bridge
- Barricades
- Cones
- Traffic Control Devices
- Sheriff's Office
- Fire Marshal's Office
To submit a request for a road closure, please download and print
a copy of the Road Closure Request
Form. The completed form can then be sent by FAX to the Public Works
department at 972-548-3754. |
