The Collin County Sheriff's Office and Collin County
Homeland Security have joined forces with CRIMEWEB.NET to provide an effective
method of alerting the citizens of Collin County of significant events.
CrimeWeb was developed to provide a uniform, accessible internet site
that law enforcement agencies can use to keep the citizens in their communities
informed and protected. The CrimeWeb site provides six basic types of
information to subscribers:
- Missing Child Alerts
- Missing Adult Alerts
- Major Crime Alerts
- Homeland Security Alerts
- School Alerts
- Community Information Alerts
In the event of a significant incident, an email or
a text message will be sent to citizens that have registered with the
site and requested to be informed. The service is free. The
information regarding each type of alert is entered into the CrimeWeb
site clearinghouse by a public safety agency using either a workstation
or a mobile computer
The CrimeWeb clearinghouse will allow citizens to provide
feedback to the subscribing law enforcement agency if they have information
or details regarding an incident that has been entered.
To receive these the alerts and information, log on
