Each September, communities across the country pause to recognize National Suicide Prevention Month – a time to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and remind people that support is available. The Collin County Adult Mental Health Court joins this national effort, reaffirming its commitment to the health, dignity, and recovery of every participant it serves.

AMHC Supports Recovery through Connection

The Adult Mental Health Court is a specialty court program that is an alternative to incarceration. The program is designed to connect justice-involved individuals living with mental illness to treatment, supervision, and community-based support. Suicide prevention is an integral part of this work.

Prevention is a Community Effort

Suicide Prevention Month provides an opportunity to remember that prevention is not limited to one month or one organization. "Suicide prevention is a community effort," said Judge Jennifer Edgeworth who presides over the Adult Mental Health Court. "Early connection to appropriate resources can make a meaningful difference, particularly during times of crisis."
