The Collin County Elections Department will be holding a Volunteer Deputy Registrar lab on Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. The lab will be held at:
Collin County Courthouse
Central Jury Room
2100 Bloomdale Rd.
McKinney, Texas 75071
To practice safety and social distancing, the class will be limited to 100 attendees. Please complete and submit the hyperlinked Google form. This will serve as your registration for the class. We will stop accepting submitted registrations after we have reached room capacity.
Upon arrival the applicants will be provided with the following information:
- Volunteer Deputy Registrar training presentation
- Volunteer Deputy Registrar Guide
- Application for Appointment of Volunteer Voter Registrar
- Certificate of Appointment.
New applicants are encouraged to view the Volunteer Deputy Registrar training presentation prior to attending the lab. Presentations and information about becoming a VDR by both Collin County and the Texas Secretary of State can be found at the following sites respectively:
Any deputy registrar who has already trained and has already been appointed in another Texas county during the current election cycle, or who is recertifying as a VDR in Collin County do not have to undergo additional training nor complete another exam. These attendees will need to do the following:
- Bring their current Certificate of Appointment or Certificate ID card issued by another Texas county
- Complete an Application for Appointment of Volunteer Voter Registrar in Collin County
The presentation should last approximately thirty minutes. Once the training has ended the applicants will complete and submit their Application for Appointment of Volunteer Voter Registrar, Certificate of Appointment, and their ID card.
