Mental Health Symposium set for Nov. 16

The 2017 Collin County Mental Health Symposium will meet Nov. 16 in McKinney, to fine tune how to best handle mental health issues, local processes, and share ideas to expand the network and services for those with mental illness here.

The symposium brings together mental health advocates, providers, first responders, attorneys, Judges, detention officers, and local law enforcement to expand and improve the team network for working with behavioral health issues. It will be held at Collin College's Conference Center, 2200 W. University Dr., in McKinney, and runs from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The cost is $50.

U.S. Marine Corps veteran Jeff Kyle will be the keynote speaker. Mr. Kyle served in the 3rd and 4th Marine Divisions as an infantryman and weapons instructor, with several  deployments to the Middle East. He and his family have devoted their lives to helping other veterans, first responders and their families.
