Collin County
Public Works is notifying drivers in the Celina area to keep an eye out for cyclists and partial lane closures on some county roads for the
Texas High School Cycling League bicycle race Sunday, March 27.
This is the 13th year Public Works has assisted the THSCL in their annual race.
The event will affect county roads 134, 132, 138, 178, 179, 176, 177, and 135. This event will require a partial road closure (right lanes) since the cyclists compete in a "rolling enclosure." Cyclists race between pace- and follow-vehicles, which will call for traffic to stop at intersections to allow the groups to safely tum with no impediments. The staging area will be in the Celina High School parking lot.
Please see the map for the race route, and be sure to keep an eye out for Public Works barricades, traffic cones and – above all – the cyclists.
