Public health authorities reported the death of a 91-year-old Plano woman Friday afternoon, hospitalized with underlying health conditions and COVID-19. She was a resident of Resident of Arbor Hills Memory Care in Plano. Out of respect for her family, no further personal information is being released.

As of this morning, the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) reported 2,532 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Collin County, with 1,954 of those individuals reported to have recovered.

This is the 42nd fatality of a county resident with COVID-19 reported to county health authorities.

DSHS assumed all new case reporting and contact tracing for Collin County on June 1. Total figures for active cases in Collin County are a blend of state-generated reports, plus any active cases before June 1 that the county is still overseeing. Because the county receives death reports from local sources sooner than the state does, county health authorities will continue to report COVID-19 related deaths.
