County health authorities report that an 86-yeard-old McKinney man with an underlying health condition and COVID-19 died Sunday evening at North Park Nursing Home. No further personal information is being released out of respect for his family.

The number of county residents who have died with COVID-19 comes to 73.

As of this morning, the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) reported 5,571 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Collin County, with 4,418 of those individuals reported to have recovered. Those numbers are lower than the previous day, as Collin County's Health Care Services staff adjusted two reporting categories for COVID-19 cases,  removing duplicates and out-of-county cases that came from the state's Texas Health Trace system that were previously reported on our dashboard since June 1.

The adjustment resulted in a decrease of confirmed, active and recovered cases reported out yesterday. None of the adjusted cases involved so-called "probables."
