​Holiday Closing: all county offices are closed Monday, May 30, for the Memorial Day holiday, and will re-open Tuesday, May 31. This includes parks offices, public works, courts and all other administrative offices.

Support Services Bureau

The Support Services Bureau includes records, communications, and several other support service functions. It also houses sections responsible for recruiting, hiring, and training the most highly qualified personnel to staff both the Sheriff's Office and the Detention Facility.

Professional Standards Section

The Professional Standards Section (PSS) receives, screens, and investigates all applicants for employment. This section is also responsible for conducting internal affairs investigations and oversees investigations into Citizen Complaints.

Training Section

The law enforcement profession is constantly evolving. In order to implement new technologies, comply with changing laws, and meet the increasing needs of the county's citizens, the Training Section staff researches, develops, and conducts comprehensive training programs for employees at all levels.

Records Section

Staff in the Records Section handles all processing, maintenance, and storage of Sheriff's Office records, which includes offense, arrest and jail reports, and investigative records. The Records Section also processes arrest warrants received from the court system, and prepares crime reports for the state and F.B.I., Emergency 9-1-1 phone service, computer-aided-dispatch, and all radio communications are provided in the public safety communications center by staff assigned to the Communications Section.

Support Services

Staff within the Support Services Division is responsible for providing and handeling fugitive arrests, and transports wanted persons. Civil processes, Mental health services, which includes emergency commitments, and provides crisis intervention in cooperation with the county's mental commitments court and the Collin County Mental Health Mental Retardation Center.


The Sheriff’s Dispatch Center is staffed 24 hours a day; 7 days a week; 365 days a year with professional dispatchers who are dedicated and trained to handle life-threatening emergencies as well as all non-emergency calls that are received. The Sheriff operates a regional dispatch center. In addition to answering calls for the Sheriff’s Office, the dispatchers answer calls for other law enforcement agencies and  fire/EMS agencies in Collin County. Dispatchers also process calls related to animal control, Court house officers and other county agencies.
