What is Collin County VOAD?
Collin County Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters (VOAD) is a network of independent organizations working together to foster efficient delivery of resources to people affected by disasters. Its role is to support its members' efforts by providing a forum to facilitate cordination, communication, cooperation and collaboration.
Why should your organization get involved?
Collin County VOAD is always seeking to partner with non-profit, faith-based and business organizations with expertise and resources to assist in times of disaster. No matter how large or small, if your organization provides services or expertise in times of disaster, it would make an ideal Collin County VOAD member.
How does Collin County VOAD support disaster victims?
Because members coordinate their organizations’ resources in advance of a disaster, the VOAD can quickly provide, or direct victims to the whole range of assistance they have available. Additionally, VOAD training and organizational volunteer vetting ensures that victims are served by people with the know-how and background to help.
