Effective Immediately: New Resident Services and Title transfer transactions will not be available within 30 minutes of closing. Please see the Tax Assessor Home page for office hours.

To avoid penalties , transfer title within 30 days from the date of sale or entry into Texas. If there is no appointment availability​, each office accepts walk-ins.​

DEALER STATEMENT: We are not accepting appointments for Dealer transactions at this time.

We are accepting appointments for:

  • Renew Texas Registration
    • The title owner must be a current Collin County resident and must have a current vehicle inspection (no earlier than 90 days before the registration expires).
  • Title Transfers/ New Residents
  • Handicapped parking placard
    • Completed application (VTR-214)
    • New prescription from physician OR notarized physician's signature on the back of form
    • Valid ID
    • Surrender valid placards (if renewing permanent placard)
