Collin County is undertaking an important update to its Regional Trails Master Plan, building on the
original 2012 Regional Trails Master Plan to improve and expand the countywide trail network. This update reflects the community's
evolving vision and aims to strengthen connectivity, support local municipalities, and prioritize future trail
development across the region. County Staff will present the DRAFT Regional Trails Master Plan to the Collin County Commissioners Court on November 10th, 2025. Following the presentation, the Court will conduct a Public Hearing to receive public comments on the draft plan. Plan Purpose
- Review and update the 2012 Master Plan.
- Provide direction for the continued development of the countywide trail network.
- Reflect the vision of county residents and stakeholders.
- Prioritize implementation of trail segments over time.
Intended Outcomes
- Identify a recommended trail network that fills critical system gaps and provides interjurisdictional connection
opportunities.
- Create a realistic action plan for future capital investments and implementing future trail segments.
- Provide guidance for policies and design standards for the development of trail facilities for communities within
Collin County, particularly smaller municipalities with limited staff capacity.
