Collin County Teen Court Common Questions
| Why are the dates always filled, when I check the calendar? | There are about 200 volunteers in our database from Allen, Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Prosper, etc. To be fair, it is first come, first served to volunteer. This means you should check the calendar daily to see when dates are posted and email to sign up. | | | When is the attorney training scheduled? | The attorney training is usually scheduled in August. Notice of the date and place are placed on the web page around June. You should have volunteered at least twice before signing up and be at least 14 years old. At this time, the training is to be determined due to COVID-19. | | | Why are there no court dates posted on the calendar? | Court dates are scheduled when we receive cases from the referring courts. If we don’t receive cases then we cannot schedule court. There is no set date or time when the dates are posted. | | | Why are the attorney positions filled so fast? | There are only 2-3 positions for attorneys for ZOOM court. The teens who sign up for these are highly competitive and check the calendar daily to sign up. | | | Can you sign my son/daughter up for future dates? | No, we cannot pre-reserve dates. It would not be fair to the other volunteers who want to volunteer. | |
