ABOUT BOIS D'ARC LAKE AND THE PIPELINE:

NTMWD is constructing Bois d'Arc Lake, the first major reservoir in Texas in nearly 30 years. NTMWD is also constructing a water treatment plant in Leonard and about 60 miles of pipeline to move water from the future lake to our regional water system.

The treated water pipeline will span 25 of those 60 miles and transport treated water from the Leonard water treatment plant to NTMWD's existing regional water system in McKinney. Work on the treated water pipeline is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2020 with completion in summer 2021. Once completed, the pipeline will provide treated water to nearly 80 North Texas communities.
