Collin County Judge Chris Hill is accepting applications for the 2024/2025 Collin County Youth Leadership Council. The leadership program offers high school students in Collin County a unique opportunity to learn about county government, visit county facilities, and interact with their elected officials about local government and policy issues facing their community.
"Collin County students are among the best and the brightest in Texas," said Judge Hill. "I've been so impressed with the students in the Youth Leadership Council. They have a genuine desire to understand how county government operates and to interact with their state and local officials. These are truly the future leaders of our community."
The Collin County Youth Leadership Council program is open to high school students who live in Collin County or attend a public, private, or home school in Collin County. Students selected for the program will have the opportunity to visit with elected officials and tour the county courthouse, juvenile detention facility, and the Texas State Capitol in Austin.
Students interested in the 2024/2025 Collin County Youth Leadership Council should submit the completed application, which includes a short essay and a letter of recommendation, by Friday, November 8. Judge Chris Hill serves as the 27th county judge and chief elected official of Collin County, Texas. Previously, Judge Hill served five years as a county commissioner for Collin County.
