County offices to remain closed for Friday, Feb. 4
Due to continuing severe winter weather, Collin County offices and buildings will remain closed to the public for Friday, Feb. 4.
Collin County Emergency Management, in consultation with the National Weather Serviceand theTexas Division of Emergency Management, reports that the winter storm front should pass across Collin County by mid-afternoon. Temperatures will remain below freezing throughout the evening and tonight, with precipitation on the roads expected to refreeze before tomorrow morning.
TheCollin County Public Works Departmentis reporting five trees down on or across county roads, but no serious damage. The department's staff has been actively sanding county roads this morning.
Grayson-Collin Electric Coopis reporting approximately 1,400 customers without power at this time (including approximately 1,300 in Collin County), mostly around New Hope, Lowry Crossing, Fairview, and Lucas. Crews are working now to restore power, but GCEC cannot provide an estimated time for power restoration at this time. Fannin-Collin Electric Coopis reporting approximately 6,200 customers without power at this time (including approximately 1,400 in Collin County), mostly between Blue Ridge and Princeton. Oncor Electricis reporting approximately 3,000 customers without power in Collin County at this time. Crews are working now to restore power, but Oncor is unable to provide an estimated time for complete power restoration.
CoServ Electricis reporting no customers without power in Collin County at this time.
