Collin County Sheriff's Office Arrests Collin College Student in Elder Scam Investigation

[Collin County, Texas] - November 19, 2024 - The Collin County Sheriff's Office, in collaboration with Collin College Police Department, and Washington County Sheriff's Office, Virginia, has arrested Mark Aiseosa Kadiri, a Collin College student, in connection with a financial fraud scheme targeting elderly victims.

The arrest followed an in-depth investigation into reports of fraudulent activities affecting victims across multiple states, including one in Virginia. Search warrants executed by investigators revealed that Kadiri allegedly exploited elderly individual , resulting in approximately $61,000.00 in illicit funds deposited into his bank account.

“We take crimes that victimize vulnerable members of our community very seriously,” said Sheriff Jim Skinner. “With the rise in scams happening in Collin County and across the nation, we are committed to doing everything in our power to bring these scammers to justice. Thanks to the diligent efforts of our investigators and the cooperation of Collin College Police, and Washington County Sheriff's Office, Virginia, we are ensuring that this individual is held accountable and that justice is served.”

On the evening of November 21,2024, Mark Aiseosa Kadiri was taken into custody without incident while attending a class at Collin College. Following the arrest, investigators executed a search warrant at Kadiri's campus residence, securing additional evidence to support the case.
