Press Release: 2nd Annual Operation Safe Halloween
For Immediate Release:
2ND ANNUAL OPERATION SAFE HALLOWEEN
In partnership with several law enforcement agencies, Collin County Sheriff's Office Child Exploitation Unit recently completed a three day operation resulting in the apprehension of 16 child predators in the North Texas area. Charges included Solicitation of Prostitution Under 18 and Online Solicitation of a Minor.
Collin County Sheriff Jim Skinner stated, "Investigations of this nature help reveal the lengths predators will go to sexually abuse children. Twenty years ago we were warning children about the white van with free candy. Today, child molesters use the Internet and social media apps to gain access to our children. It is absolutely essential for parents to know what apps their children use, and who they are communicating with. The men and women of Collin County Sheriff's Office remain committed to protect all children while warning those child predators coming to Collin County…we are hunting for you."
Collin County Sheriff's Office wishes to thank all of the following involved agencies: Texas Department of Public Safety, Child Protective Services, Homeland Security Investigations, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Texas Attorney General's Office, Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, and Dallas Police Department.
