Significant Drug Seizure on US 75 by North Texas Sheriff's Criminal Interdiction Unit

[Collin County, Texas] - August 28, 2024 - The North Texas Sheriff's Criminal Interdiction Unit, a collaborative effort involving law enforcement agencies from Collin, Grayson, Hunt, Parker, Rockwall, Smith, Tarrant, and Wise Counties, made a significant drug seizure during a routine traffic stop on US 75 in Collin County.
During the stop, officers conducted a consensual search of a vehicle driven by Texas residents Carlos Morado Jr. and Ruben Morales. The search uncovered 3,000 grams of cocaine hidden inside the vehicle. Both individuals were arrested and charged with the manufacture or delivery of a penalty group 1 narcotic exceeding 400 grams. They are currently held at the Collin County Sheriff's Office, each with a bond of $750,000.
This operation underscores the unit's commitment to targeting criminal activities along major highways and safeguarding the well-being of our communities.
