Press Release: Donald Campfield
For Immediate Release:
On Tuesday, May 24, investigators with the Collin County Sheriff's Office Child Exploitation Unit (CEU) arrested 30-year-old Donald Campfield and charged him with Online Solicitation of a Minor-Sexual Conduct, a 2nd Degree Felony, and Evading, a State Jail Felony.
In an online chat with an undercover CEU investigator, who was posing as a 15-year-old girl in McKinney, Campfield made clear his intentions to meet and engage in sexual activity. Although he lives in Tennessee, Campfield told the girl that he was traveling to Plano and staying in a hotel for a few days. Campfield arranged to meet the girl Tuesday afternoon at a public park. When Campfield arrived, he saw investigators and fled. After a brief pursuit, Campfield was taken into custody.
Campfield admitted that he knew the girl was a juvenile and that he
tried to meet her to engage in sexual activity. Campfield also has other felony convictions.
The Collin
County Sheriff's Office thanks the Fairview and Allen Police Departments for their assistance in this
investigation.
