Child Exploitation Unit Arrests Suspect in Online Solicitation of a Minor Investigation

[Collin County, Texas] - On May 7, 2024, the Collin County Sheriff's Office Child Exploitation Unit initiated an investigation into the online solicitation of a minor after a parent discovered their underage daughter was engaging in sexually explicit communications with an unknown individual who had begun requesting inappropriate images from the minor thru multiple social media platforms.

Following a comprehensive investigation, the suspect was identified as 34-year-old Sarif Ahmed, a Florida resident and flight attendant for PSA Airlines. On September 19, 2024, with the assistance of DFW Airport Police, the Federal Air Marshal Service, and American Airlines personnel, Ahmed was apprehended without incident. He is currently in custody at the Collin County Detention Facility awaiting arraignment on the charge of Online Solicitation of a Minor, a Third Degree Felony.
