Collin County COVID-19 vaccination rates top state and national averages, with more than 61 percent of its eligible population being fully vaccinated -- and 81-percent of those 65 and older, according to published state and federal counts.

As of July 20, healthcare providers across the county have administered 1,094,135 doses of COVID-19 vaccine through some 336 separate vaccine providers registered with Texas' Department of State Health Services (DSHS). The data comes from DSHS and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Taylor Burton, Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for Collin County Healthcare Services, announced those findings Monday, July 26, during a meeting of the county's Health Care Foundation. Watch the entire presentation on the new figures here.

"We are in the very highest groups of vaccinated counties in the state of Texas," Ms. Burton said.
