Press Release: Structure Fire Blue Ridge, TX
For Immediate Release:
At 6:45 a.m., Saturday, July 23, the Collin County Sheriff's Office, Blue Ridge Fire Department, and Westminster Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 13693 Lackey Drive in Blue Ridge. Upon arrival, deputy sheriffs and firefighters found the residence fully engulfed in flames. Outside, they located a 55-year-old woman, who had sustained significant injuries in the fire. Emergency services transported her to Medical Center of McKinney, and physicians expect her to survive.
Firefighters worked several hours to contain the fire, but the residence was destroyed. They located a deceased person inside who investigators believe died in the fire. The body has been turned over to the Collin County Medical Examiner and investigators are working to identify the deceased person.
Investigators with the Collin County Fire Marshal's Office are leading the investigation into the cause of the fire.
