At 6:49 pm on Friday, June 24, Collin County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the scene of a paraglider crash in a field off of FM 547 near Farmersville.A 39-year-old male, later identified as Benjamin Shannon, a resident of Caddo Mills, was taken by emergency responders to Medical City Plano where he was pronounced deceased.

The Texas Department of Public Safety, Federal Aviation Administration, and the Collin County Sheriff's Office are investigating this incident.
