Commissioner Webb was sworn in as Collin County Commissioner for Precinct 4 in 2011, and quickly became a leader on the Commissioner's Court regarding transportation issues. He has spent the last decade advocating for TxDOT and local transportation projects, both behind the scenes and with the public.

Commissioner Duncan WebbIn 2012, he was appointed by the Collin County Commissioner's Court to the Regional Transportation Council, the regional transportation policymaking group comprised of 44 appointed members who represent cities, counties, and transportation agencies throughout North Texas. That same year he also joined the Dallas Regional Mobility Coalition, an advocacy group made up of more than 20 local elected officials in the Dallas area. In that role, he led the charge to ensure Collin County's future transportation needs were thoughtfully planned and prepared to meet the needs of a high-growth county. His foresight and leadership on the future transportation needs of Collin County have led to the county receiving more than $600 million for new limited-access roadways. He has also been the driving force behind two long-range planning studies to understand the highway and transit needs of a burgeoning Collin County.

In 2019, he was elected chairman of the Dallas Regional Mobility Coalition. In 2022, Webb again answered the call to lead the region's transportation efforts. He was named chairman of the Regional Transportation Council.

His leadership and willingness to partner with TxDOT has helped guide the department's decisions for more than a decade, which has led to successful policy and planning efforts along US 380 and other corridors. He is a key partner for TxDOT's Dallas District, and is always willing to help navigate challenges and obstacles to ensure projects advance.

TxDOT Dallas District Engineer Ceason Clemens and North Central Texas Council of Governments Director of Transportation Michael Morris presented the award to Webb at January's Regional Transportation Council meeting.
