Update: Upcoming Hearings
Two hearings have been set for State of Texas v. Karmelo Sincere Anthony (Cause No. 296-83565-2025).
- August 19, 2026, 9:00 am, 494th Courtroom, Collin County Courthouse - A hearing on the request for recusal
- August 20, 2026, 9:00 am, (Courtroom pending), Collin County Courthouse - A hearing over a request for a new trial
An order issued by the 296th Court on August 5, 2026, issued a Supplemental Order Regarding Trial Proceedings, Media Access, Security, and Courtroom Decorum. The order states that the Amended Order Regulated Trial Proceedings, Media Access, Security, and Courtroom Decorum entered into on May 18, 2026, remains “in full force and effect” throughout the duration of the proceedings.
To ensure a safe and orderly proceeding, media and public access will be managed in the same way as the original trial.
For media credentialing for the August 19, 2026, hearing, please submit this Media Request Intake Form by 4:00 pm (CDT), August 12, 2026. Media who receive credentials will be notified by August 17, 2026. Nine seats will be available.
An overflow room with a video feed to the 494th Courtroom will be available on August 19, 2026.
More information related to location, proceedings, media access, and courtroom decorum will be made available for the August 20, 2026, hearing after the August 19, 2026, hearing.
