Commissioners Court: Darrell Hale, Commissioner - Precinct 3

My wife Marie and I have been married since 2001 and I have lived in the area since the late 90’s. We have four daughters whom we are raising as Christian leaders and we attend services in Allen. I am the son of a Korean War vet, and my parents were small business owners. I proudly received nominations to West Point from both Senators and my State Representative and ultimately accepted and graduated in 1994.

Upon my appointment to West Point and subsequent training and schooling, I graduated with a BS with a Mapping, Charting, and Geodesy major on a Computer Science Engineering track. I served in active and reserve components till 2006 as a Field Artillery Officer. I have background post military in the telecom corridor working with companies such as DSC Communications, Alcatel, Riverstone Networks, Accelerated Networks, and AudioCodes. After my telecom executive experiences, I established two painting franchises and ran them for almost six years until selling the company and running for office.

In my community involvements, I have participated with the Boys and Girls Club of Collin County on multiple Christmas bike builds, the Make-A-Wish Foundation making wishes come true. I am also a member of Team RWB, the National Rifle Association, Sons of the American Revolution, the Plano Bicycling Association, and formerly with Allen Kiwanis and the Fairview Rotary. I have also served for a three-year term on the finance committee for my church, Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church.

Since being on the Commissioners Court, I have served on various boards including: North Central Texas Council of Governments NCT911, NCTCOG EPPC, Regional Transportations Council, and the NCTCOG Executive Committee. I am also a board member of Collin Strong and also a board member of The Warriors Keep, a veterans nonprofit based out of McKinney Texas.

Darrell Hale was elected as Collin County Commissioner, Precinct 3, in November 2018, filling an unexpired term for Precinct 3, vacated by County Judge Chris Hill prior to his election, and succeeding Commissioner John Thomas (appointed). Commissioner Hale will be up for re-election to an additional full four-year term in 2028.
