Duncan Webb was born in Dallas, Texas, and has been a resident of Plano, Texas since 1983. He is the sole shareholder of the law firm of Webb & Webb, P.C., practicing as an attorney in Dallas and Plano since 1980. He was admitted to the
Texas Bar in 1980; the U.S. District Court,
Northern District of Texas, 1981;
U.S. Tax Court, 1982, the
U.S. Court of Appeals, 5th Circuit, 1985; and, the Pennsylvania Bar in 1993.
Mr. Webb’s primary practice areas center on business law including formation, operation and transactions, tax and estate planning, and real estate transactions.
Education
Mr. Webb received his B.B.A. from Southern Methodist University in 1977 and his J.D. from Southern Methodist University in 1980. Mr. Webb is a member of the
State Bar of Texas (General Practice, Taxation, Real Estate and Probate Sections),
Collin County Bar Association, and the
Dallas Estate Planning Council. Mr. Webb is also a sustaining member of the Texas Bar Foundation and the Collin County Bench Bar Foundation, and served on the District 1A Grievance Committee of the State Bar of Texas for 6 years as well as its Chairperson for 2006-2007.
Leadership
In 1998, Mr. Webb was elected to the Board of Trustees of the
Plano Independent School District, where he served four, three-year terms. Mr. Webb served as President of the Board of Trustees from 2005 to 2008 after serving as Board Vice President and Secretary in previous years.
He is a graduate of Leadership TASB in 2002 and received his “Master Trustee” designation under that program. He also designated a PTA Honorary Life Member in 2005. Mr. Webb is a graduate of Leadership Plano Class X, and has served on its Board.
In 2020, Mr. Webb was honored by the Plano Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Plano for his leadership and contributions to the community of Plano, with the
2020 Distinguished Leadership Award.
Community Involvement
Mr. Webb has served on numerous community boards and committees including Medical City-Plano Board of Directors (Chair for two years); City of Plano Library Advisory Board (Chair for two years);
Assistance Center of Collin County Board (Chair for one year); The Classics Board (President for one year); Practical Parent Education Advisory Board; Plano Family YMCA Board; PISD Key Communicators; and, Christ United Methodist Church Executive Committee and Building Committee (Chair).
Mr. Webb is a member of the Plano Metro Rotary Club.
Family
Mr. Webb and his wife, Beth, have two daughters, Heather (graduated from Texas A&M in 2010) and Melissa (graduated from Texas A&M in 2012). The Webb family was honored by the
Plano Family YMCA as the 1997 Plano Family of the Year. In 2009, the
Plano Chamber of Commerce selected and honored Mr. Webb and his wife as “Plano’s Citizens of the Year for 2008.
